Pensacola area’s women’s philanthropy group to give out more than $1 million
With more than one thousands members, Pensacola Bay area’s IMPACT 100 chapter is set to hand out 10 $100,000 grants to local nonprofits.
The grants will be given during the group’s annual meeting next month. Membership in the women’s philanthropy group requires a $1,000 donation. Those donations are pooled into grants to make a greater difference for the agencies that receive them.
This year’s membership was 1,082 in the Pensacola metro area, a record number for the organization.
The group will select among 15 grant finalists to award 10 nonprofits with a grant of $108,200 at the IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 16, 2016.
“With this year’s grants, IMPACT’s members have given $8 million to worthy nonprofit organization projects in the Santa Rosa and Escambia counties since the group was conceived in 2004,” the group said in a statement Wednesday.
“Since inception in 2004, with the 2016 awards, IMPACT 100 will have awarded 77 grants in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and will bring the total awarded in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to $8,318,000.”
