Pensacola is the second most affordable beach town in the United States, according to an analysis by personal finance and technology website SmartAsset.com.

It’s the third consecutive year that Pensacola has finished second in the ranking, which looked at data on some 229 cities, comparing median home value, median housing cost, median number of rooms per house, and median property taxes paid.

Coastal Mississippi also scored well, with Gulfport coming in at #1, Biloxi at #3, Bay St. Louis at #5 and Ocean Springs at #6. Nearby Fort Walton Beach, Fla. ranked 11th, and Gulf Shores, Ala. ranked 13th.

According to the analysis, the median home in Pensacola is valued at $145,700 and has a monthly housing cost of about $850. Pensacola’s median annual property taxes of $1,109 were just over Gulfport’s annual median of $952, however.
