After recently being awarded a $1 billion contract to protect the networks of dozens of federal agencies from cyber threats, Raytheon plans to hire more than 140 employees in Pensacola.

Raytheon was picked in September by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as the prime contractor and systems integrator for the department’s Network Security Deployment division.

According to Raytheon, the contract delivers full lifecycle development and sustainment for the National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS). The NCPS assists more than 100 federal civilian government agencies with protecting their networks against advanced cyber threats.

Under this contract, Raytheon will support the government in the design, development, operations, and maintenance services for the NCPS. Raytheon will build mission-critical cybersecurity solutions that enable the timely dissemination of threat warnings and improve information sharing across DHS’s stakeholder community.

Raytheon will also be hosting an open house in Pensacola to attract local cyber talent who will be critical to the program’s success. More information on the open house and available positions can be found at Raytheon’s official job portals and event listings.
