Popular Swedish firm H&M — one of the world’s largest fashion retailers — will open its 33rd Florida location in Pensacola’s Cordova Mall at noon on Thursday, November 16.
The new H&M location will offer Pensacola residents a one-stop shopping destination for quality clothing, with collections for ladies and men, with a separate “shop in shop” section for accessories, officials said in a release. The Pensacola store will also feature the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14 year olds.
To celebrate the new store, H&M will offer the first 200 shoppers in line an H&M “Access to Fashion Pass,” valued between $10 and $300, in addition to other surprise offers for the whole family. Customers who garment recycle on opening day can also enter to win a gift card from $50 to $250 dollars.
“Florida is a large market for us,” said H&M spokesman Patrick Shaner. “It’s a great area for us. We have a great customer base there. We’re just excited to add another location to the state and to be able to employ more people as well. It just seems to be a great location for us and for customers.”
Founded in 1947 in Sweden, Hennes & Mauritz now operates some 4,500 stores worldwide, with more that 161,000 employees. H&M has hired approximately 20 new employees for Pensacola’s 20,000 square foot store.
