Pensacola city council members Andy Terhaar and Gerald Wingate have been reelected without opposition after no other candidates filed to run for their seats by Friday’s qualifying deadline.

Terhaar and Wingate, who represent the city’s District 3 and District 5 respectively, were both elected in 2012. Terhaar served as the council’s president during 2015.

Two other council members — District 1’s P.C. Wu and District 7’s Jewel Cannada-Wynn — face reelection contests. Former Pensacola mayoral candidate C.J. Lewis filed earlier this week to run against Wu, who has served on the council since 2004. Neighborhood leader Anny Shepard will run against Cannada-Wynn, who has occupied her current seat since 2012 and previously served on the council from 2004-2010.
