The Florida Department of Management Services is hosting a free event for Florida-based woman, veteran and minority small business owners.
The department’s Office of Supplier Diversity will host the workshop and training on Thursday, February 11 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the University of West Florida conference center at 11000 University Parkway, Bldg. 22, Pensacola, Fla.
The Supplier Diversity Exchange will include training, workshops and presentations by professionals from the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center, local Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) business owners, as well as representatives from state, local and regional government entities.
Topics, presented by various experts, will include:
- Certification documentation review
- Loans for your small business
- Federal certifications for woman, veteran and minority business owners, including 8A certification
- Best practices of a CBE to win government work
- How certified state vendors can get more from state resources
- Just for Pensacola – meet a few of the prime contractors that are up for bid on the Pensacola Bay Bridge project
The Business Exchange, one-on-one interview sessions in the afternoon, allows small business owners to network and meet with state and local agencies’ procurement professionals as well as representatives of large corporations, to market their goods and services.
Please note that registered attendees will receive a list of registered agencies on Feb. 9 to make their appointments for the Business Exchange one-on-one.
All attendees must be registered and checked-in before 1:15 p.m. CST in order to participate in the Business Exchange portion of the day.
Registration closes on Tuesday, Feb. 8. This is a free event and walk-ins will be welcome; however we urge everyone to reserve a seat as space will be limited. Attendee packets will be distributed between 8 and 10 a.m. CST
