The 1st Special Operations Wing will host the 2015 Fall Festival at the Freedom Hangar, here, Oct. 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The 1st Special Operations Medical Group and 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron organized the free event as an opportunity for Airmen and their families to spend an evening participating in seasonal activities together.
Guests will be able to participate in more than 30 different activities, such as, animal encounters, a petting zoo, pony and train rides, bounce houses, paintball target practice and chances to win prizes donated from various sponsors.
Additionally, different base units will set up game booths for pumpkin putt-putt and pin the nose on the Talon, as well as craft booths for decorating pumpkins and designing masks.
“Events like the Fall Festival are an opportunity for base personnel to come together as a community,” said Dianne Blitzes, 1st SOFSS marketing director. “People who work on Hurlburt are at the tip of the spear every day.”
Festival guests will be treated to free bratwursts, hotdogs, chips, gelato and a choice of water or soda, and of course, a lot of candy.
The festival will conclude with a costume parade and contest. Event sponsors will judge the contest and award prizes for the best costumes.
According to Blitzes, the unique blending of people from all across the base, coming together in support of each other, is what makes this festival so fun.
“Sharing time together strengthens our bond as Air Commandos,” said Blitzes.
Shuttles will be available from the Base Exchange and Commissary parking lot. Handicap parking will be available near the event.
