Next week, the Greater Pensacola Chamber will welcome Captain Keith Hoskins from the U.S. Navy to its monthly Gopher Club partnership breakfast. Hoskins will speak on the significance of the Navy’s 240th anniversary, as well as our Navy’s proud history and heritage.
Upon his appointment in 2013, Hoskins became the first African-American and first former Blue Angel to command the Naval Air Station Pensacola base. Hoskins is a native of Parkville, Mo., and he holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from Missouri Western State University. After completion of Aviation Officer Candidate School, he was designated a naval aviator in Kingsville, Tex. Hoskins has accumulated more the 3,400 flight hours, 570 arrested landings, and numerous unit commendations and awards.
The event — graciously sponsored by The UPS Store — will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., at the Pensacola Bay Center, 201 E. Gregory St. Gopher Club is open to the public, but registration is required. The cost for Chamber partners is $15 and $25 for the general public. Registration ends at noon on Monday, Aug. 31, and walk-ins will be charged an additional $5 at the door. Register online by visiting pensacolachamber.com/events.
