Pensacola International Airport leads the Gulf Coast with the lowest average airfares of any airport in the region, according to recent data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The nationwide airfare data, released this month by FAA’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics, covers the first quarter of 2015.
Pensacola led all airports in the region with an average fare of $456.21, compared to $467.95 at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, $471.51 at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, $531.31 at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, $551.91 at Tallahassee International Airport, and $556.86 at Mobile Regional Airport.
“Pensacola International Airport has long been the first choice of travelers along the central Gulf Coast due to its close proximity to Northwest Florida’s beautiful beaches,” said Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward.
“Over the past five years, we’ve worked hard to grow our airport, add new airlines and routes, and focus on creating a ‘Fly Easy’ experience for customers. With the lowest fares on the coast, and our sugar-sand beaches and great dining, shopping, and museums just minutes away, Pensacola can’t be beat.”
