A Pensacola Bay area non-profit is holding community cleanups of local parks and beaches this spring and summer.

Oceanhour Florida, a Pensacola-based nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping local beaches and parks clean is asking volunteers to roll up their sleeves to remove trash and debris from parks across Pensacola.

Supported by organizations such as the Pensacola Scenic Highway Foundation, the City of Pensacola, the University of Florida, and the National Park Service, Oceanhour volunteers have already collected more than 2,000 pounds of trash during cleanups this year.

Oceanhour is on track this year to surpass trash collected from Pensacola area parks in 2016. (Oceanhour/Special to The Pulse)

With a volunteer base of more than 300 people, the group is looking for volunteers from across the community to join during cleanups this spring and summer.
