Eighteen food trucks will assemble in downtown Pensacola on Saturday for the 2nd annual Pensacola Hot Wheels Food Truck Festival, with proceeds benefiting Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.

The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Plaza de Luna on the southern end of Palafox Street.

This year’s festival features twice as many food trucks as last year’s, organizers said, as well as double the event space and musical acts. The food trucks also will participate in a “hugely competitive” tasting competition with two categories: savory and sweet. The competition will be judged by local community leaders and celebrities.

The lineup of food trucks includes 3-D Burgers and Tea, Arepas by Samantha’s Gift, Barbasian, BellyBusters Food Wagon, Ben’s Burga Kaboos, Busy Bee Al Fresco, Hip Pocket Deli, I LUV Lemonade, Joe’s Caribe, Jordan Valley, Lone Star Kitchens Tex-Mex Grill, Nomadic Eats, Rolling Embers Wood-Fired Pizza, Snowbiz Shaved Ice, The Beachy Barista, Trolley Stop Ice Cream Shoppe, Twisted and Corny, and Two Birds Street Food. Gulf Coast Brewery and Hopjacks round out the partnerships for the event, in their second year of being the festival’s beverage sponsor. Entertainment will include live music by The Wide Open with an opening act performed by Xaris Waltman and Zena Carpenter.

Sponsors for the festival include Baptist Healthcare, Clark Partington Attorneys at Law, Connell and Manziek Realty, Cox Communications, Gulf Winds Credit Union, Cat Country 98.7, Navy Federal Credit Union, Coastal Bank and Trust, Just Ask Randy – Exit Realty N.F.I., Mist Works, NewsRadio1620 AM, Warren Averett, Wind Creek Hospitality, Edward Jones, Landrum HR, Meador Johnson and Bushnell, P.A., Safe Harbor Animal Hospital, WEAR ABC 3/WFGX 35, A & K Portable Toilets, and Swift Supply.

Proceeds from the festival will be used to further Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, community and hope to create healthier, sustainable neighborhoods. For more information, visit www.pensacolahotwheels.org.
