In anticipation of the coming summer season, the University of West Florida Historic Trust is seeking volunteers to serve as tour guides, living history interpreters, museum store attendants and archive and collection assistants at its properties in Historic Pensacola.

If you’re interested in becoming a tour guide, you don’t need to be a history expert. The Historic Trust will provide training to all volunteers.

Volunteer guides will have the opportunity to learn and share the history of Pensacola, known as the first multi-year settlement in the present-day United States. Tours also reflect on daily life during the 19th and 20th century in Pensacola.

The UWF Historic Trust hosts monthly volunteer recruitment sessions to present volunteer opportunities. The next session will be from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 at the Museum of Commerce, located at 201 E. Zaragoza St. in downtown Pensacola. The sessions are free and open to the public. Attendees who bring a friend will receive a 20 percent discount coupon to use in any of the Historic Pensacola museum stores.

To sign up, or get more information about volunteering, contact Wendi Davis, community engagement coordinator at UWF Historic Trust, at 850.595.5985, Ext. 111, or [email protected] For more information about the UWF Historic Trust, visit historicpensacola.org.
