The Mobile Airport Authority and Recaro Aircraft Seating Company have signed an agreement for Recaro to open an office at the Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Ala.
Recaro Aircraft Seating ranks among the world’s top three aircraft seat manufacturers. The company operates plants in Germany, Poland, South Africa, the United States and China as well as service centers in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
Recaro’s home in Mobile will be located in the Mobile Airport Authority’s newest phase of its Aerospace Incubator Strategy (AIS) that offers small, low-cost, highly flexible solutions to incentivize early location to Mobile at low rate production. Recaro Aircraft Seating recently won the Gold German Design Award 2016.
“We are pleased and proud to welcome Recaro Aircraft Seating to Mobile,” said Mobile mayor Sandy Stimpson. “This world-class company will be a great addition to the growing aerospace cluster at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. Mobile is open for business, and great companies like Recaro are helping spread that message to the world.”
“Adding to the growing number of Airbus suppliers, Recaro is exactly the type of world-class aerospace competency leader we envisioned with our AIS strategy,” stated Roger Wehner, Executive Director of the Mobile Airport Authority. “The capability set at the Aeroplex continues to grow to the benefit of all of our aerospace tenants and we are proud to be able to leverage our assets to help facilitate the growth of Mobile.”
