Developers of the Lost Key Golf & Beach Club on Perdido Key are moving forward with plans to build a series of townhome-style residences on the island.
Lost Key, developed by WCI Communities, is a luxury, master-planned community on Perdido Key. Representatives for WCI said Monday that construction is underway on the first phase of the Resort Villas townhomes and is expected to be completed this year. The development will eventually include 28 three-story units. The four-bedroom, four-bath, townhome-style units will offer more than 2,100 square feet of air-conditioned living area, two-car garages, covered patios and “expansive views” of Lost Key’s golf course and nature preserve.
The Resort Villas will feature “open living areas with center-island kitchens and great rooms perfect for entertaining,” WCI said in a release. Residents will also have access to a pool and fitness center, which WCI officials say is expected to open later this year directly next door to the Resort Villas.
WCI plans to release for sale the first phase of Resort Villas in late March, with prices starting in the upper $300,000 range. Demand for the residences — the first to be constructed at Lost Key in almost a decade — is already high, WCI representatives said.
The 413-acre gated community at Lost Key is surrounded by more than 300 acres of natural preserves and includes an 18-hole golf course, a yacht club with wet and dry slip leases, and a complimentary beach shuttle. WCI is also moving forward with plans to begin construction of a residents-only beach club at Lost Key. The gulf-front, open-air facility is planned to include private beach access, a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, locker rooms and water-side service.
