Pensacola city councilwoman Sherri Myers will hold a town hall meeting on Tuesday, February 23 for the purpose of obtaining community input on local option sales tax (LOST) projects, including funding for parks, community centers, sidewalks, street lighting, traffic calming and safe routes to schools in District 2.
Myers’ District 2 covers much of the northern part of the city, stretching from Barcia Street north to Olive Road and from Davis Highway east to 12th and Bayou Texar. The district includes the Cordova Mall commercial area.
“Tell the people you elected to be your representatives, the mayor and city council, how you want your money spent — what your neighborhood and community needs are,” Myers said in a release. “Tell them District 2 is tired of being short changed on LOST spending, on community centers, parks, storm water, drainage, sidewalks, street lights and safe routes to school for our kids. Come to the town hall meeting and let’s hold the government accountable now!”
The meeting will be held at beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, located at 5925 North 9th Avenue.
