Governor Rick Scott highlighted job growth at Fort Walton Machining in Fort Walton Beach recently. The company is creating 30 new jobs and has welcomed eight new employees since announcing their expansion in July. The company currently has more than 190 employees.
“I am excited to visit Fort Walton Machining today to celebrate their recent job growth,” said Scott. “We have made a lot of exciting jobs announcements this week because Florida is on the way to becoming the number one place for business. We will keep doing everything we can to help job creators like Fort Walton Machining succeed and create opportunities for our families.”
Fort Walton Machining was formed thirty years ago as a custom manufacturing operation to serve Eglin Air Force Base and its prime contractors. Since expanding into the commercial market, Fort Walton Machining has become an international manufacturing company with customers all over the world. Fort Walton Machining has two locations in Fort Walton Beach.
“Fort Walton Machining is proud to be a Florida company and we are excited to welcome 30 more members to our hard-working team,” said Jan McDonald, owner and Chairman of the Board of Fort Walton Machining. “We thank Governor Scott for his commitment to create a business-friendly environment in Florida so local companies like ours can grow and succeed on a global scale.”
“Locally-owned businesses like Ft. Walton machining are the lifeblood of Florida’s economy,” said Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Jesse Panuccio. “The Scott Administration supports their growth by promoting low-tax, business friendly policies. This is a great announcement for Fort Walton Beach.”
